Who will you trust?

Good Morning everyone!

 Well this is the last Friday in the month of March. While spending time with God on this week, he spoke this meditation into my spirit. I pray that today’s meditation blesses each and every person who reads it!

 These past few weeks everyone has been in March Madness mode. I don’t think you can go anywhere without hearing someone talk about the NCAA tournament. I love basketball. Believe it or not I played basketball for several years while in school (LOL!)  For those who are basketball fans or have played the game you are able to understand what actually occurs on the court.  You may have a favorite team, player, school, etc.  Moreover, everywhere you turn you cannot help but to hear people talking about brackets. They have bracket pools at work, between friends, on facebook, and etc.

Brackets are the best way to keep up with a basketball tournament and know which teams will face off against one another.  The entertaining part about brackets is that people like to predict or determine them. Many people choose their brackets based on the performance of the team. Through the brackets, they predict who will eventually be the champion of the tournament in the end.

As I was riding in my car on the other day, listening to someone talk about the NCAA tournament brackets and who they believed would win the championship game, I heard God say so clear to me, “I wish people will believe in me, like they believe in their favorite team”.

So on this Friday, God wants us to spend time in meditation on WHO WILL YOU TRUST?

 Jeremiah 17: 5- 8

This is what the LORD says:  “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.  “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

So WHO WILL YOU TRUST? Now I am not saying you shouldn’t support your favorite team during the tournament, there is nothing wrong with fun.  However, if you find yourself trusting in everyone else and worried about whether God will do something in your life, then you need a reality check on this morning! Because unlike your favorite basketball time, God has NEVER lost a game! We all know that teams have good seasons and bad seasons, but when you are rooting for God’s team you best believe that even in bad seasons, you will still WIN! Look at the scripture it says… “It does not fear when heat comes, its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and NEVER fails to bear fruit.” So WHO WILL YOU TRUST?

God wants you to know this Friday, that if He is not in every bracket in your tournament then you will never be a Champion! Oh you don’t believe me? You think you can trust in yourself and others and think you will WIN? Well let’s look at the scripture again… “CURSED is the one who trust in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord!” I know some of you are thinking well I am not cursed because my heart is always with God.  But if you think that you can doubt God and keep your heart towards him, you are deceived! You wonder why everything in your life can NEVER get RIGHT! You wonder why you are always FALLING and can NEVER seem to get ahead.  It is because you trust in your abilities more than you trust in God’s! You think you can handle it! You “Got” it, “I don’t need any help!” But while you are putting your trust in yourself, God says you “WILL NOT SEE PROSPERITY WHEN IT COMES”.  Not only that but you will live in a DRY LAND! In other words… you will NEVER BE BLESSED!  CURSED all because you rather trust man or your abilities more than you trust God!

Let me tell you something, as a Christian there will be times when you face hardships.  Life is not always “peachy” as a Christian, but the one thing you can believe in is that with God as your coach you will NEVER LOSE a Tournament! You may miss a few baskets, the ball may be turned over, you may be fouled, you may foul out, you may double dribble, but no matter what happens in the GAME you will be the Tournament Champion!

 Let’s Pray!

God we first come to you asking that you forgive us of all of our sins.  Come into our lives Father God and cleanse us.  Keep our minds stayed on you. Lord we honor you on today, we thank you for being in our lives.  We thank you that we can trust in you more than anyone else in this world.  We pray for the lives of the people who will read this meditation.  We pray that God’s agenda becomes their agenda.  We pray that every time and season will be in your hands God.  God we love you! We adore you and we know that with you on our side we have the victory.  We pray that this meditation changes the lives of your people.  We pray that if there is anyone who desires to be more like you Lord, give them strength.  We Love you! We Thank you! In Jesus name we pray, AMEN!
