Patience for the Right Path

This week I was riding in the car with my friend and traffic was horrible! The freeways were packed, and my friend kept trying to take shortcuts through neighborhoods, but no matter what street we turned on there was traffic! I almost laughed, but I knew my friend’s patience was a little short. Needless to say, that due to all the short cuts, it took us even longer to get where we were going. And though we took shortcuts, we ended up getting right back to the road we were on, and the traffic was clear a few miles ahead. It was during that time that I heard God say, “There are so many people who try and take short cuts when life is congested, but if you have patience and follow me, you will make it!”

Today we are going to go before the Lord for wisdom on this journey!

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. “

I know that life sometimes get to a point where you think that you cannot make it anymore.

I know that there are many people who will read this and they are at a place in their lives where they wish they could just die. They feel that life would be so much better if they were not even here. Things are so congested, your bills are overwhelming, your relationship with your family is strained, and you just don’t know how you are going to make it through. Every time you try to take the right roads, you feel that things are more difficult for you. Someone is feeling like if I just do this one time, it will take me to where I need to go faster. Some girl is thinking if I just sleep with him and give him some attention this one time, I can pay this bill off. There is a brother that is saying if I can just hit this one “lick” I will have enough money to take care of my business. But I hear God saying, if you just TRUST ME!

My Bishop always says that when you take short cuts, you get cut short. One time I told someone that and they replied, “When you have been cut short, the only thing you can do is take shortcuts.” But I hear God today saying that if you just use your wisdom to trust me, and stop trying to figure it out for yourself… if you just recognize that I am God… I will take care of everything.

Every short cut we took, we ended up in even more traffic, to the point that we just turned around and went back to the freeway. And I hear God saying that someone needs to do just that, turn back around and get back on the on right road. While in the car the other day, had we stayed on the freeway and had patience, we would have pushed through traffic, because a few exits later the traffic was clear. And I hear God say that if you just be patient through this congested period in your life, I will clear your path!

Let’s Pray!

Lord we come to you first asking that you forgive us for our sins. All the sins that we have committed on this week. We come before your presence with thanksgiving, because you are the true and living God. Lord we ask that you just give us the peace that passes all understanding. Give us the strength, knowledge, and wisdom to stay on the path, even when life gets congested. Even when there are so many things going on that we cannot see your path, give us the wisdom to trust you in the congestion. God we love you and we know that there is no one in this world that love us more than you do. Touch everyone who is reading this today. If they need to get back on the road give them the strength to get back on the road. Lord we love and adore you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen and Thank God!

Trusting,

MEJ!
