It’s not just Friday, but it is GOOD Friday! The Ministerial Alliance at my church has a chant that says… “You know it’s ALL GOOD… Because it’s ALL GOD!” All morning that chant has been in my spirit.

This week I failed a few test, and I am not ashamed to admit that I did (well at least today I am not).  Once those tests were over, I did not feel the same.  I felt as if I had let God down, like I disqualified myself.  I must admit that it was even difficult for me to write this meditation on today.  I thought to myself, how can I go before the people on Friday? All morning, I have typed and erased.  But it is right now that I come against the enemy! I am reminded that Now is the acceptable time (Hebrews 3:15).  I take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:15).  God spoke to me this morning and said Monica… IT’s ALL GOOD, because it’s ALL God! You would not believe that once I turned on my itunes DJ one of the first songs that played was Hezekiah Walker’s “Your Calling My Name”.  For those who do not know the words, it’s starts off “How many times will I go against your will, then you forgive me, but yet I still turn around and do the things the things I shouldn’t do because I belong.” Then it goes on to say, “But I still hear you calling my name!” I believe that is what God wants me to tell someone on today.  Someone believes that because they have done wrong they are disqualified, but today God wants you to know that no matter how many times it takes for you to learn, he will forgive you.  So forgive yourself.  When I think about all that God has done for us on Calvary, how he died so that our sins can be forgiven. WOW! That means we do not have to hold on to them, we can let Go and Let God… All because he stayed there on the cross!

On this GOOD Friday, meditate on everything that you have done wrong this week, this year, in your life that you have not forgiven yourself for. Take the time today to repent of your sins.  And remember you do not have to carry it around, because God hung on the cross Just for your sins!

Luke 23:26- 43

As they led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.  A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him.  Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30Then ” ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us” For if men do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?” Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.” There was a written notice above him, which read:|sc THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

When I think about what it means to be a “GOOD” Friday, I think about all that God did on Calvary, Just for ME and You! At that moment, it was not a “good” thing, but just like today, God will take something that was not “good” in your life and make it ALL GOOD! It is amazing how God just hung there on the cross for our sins.  And God just spoke to me that because Jesus hung there, I don’t have to hang my head ashamed of the sins that I have committed in my life.  (Thank You Lord)  God paid it all! How they beat him, spit on him, ridiculed him, hurt him, and how he suffered it ALL just for You and I.  (Let’s just worship him right here) How God just hung there and he had the power to get up, but he did not.  (God just revealed to me that there is someone that will read this and they need to know, that though you may have the power to change jobs… just hang in there.. he knows that you have the education, the letters behind your name, the experience… but JUST Hang there!)  God hung there to make sure that the lies you have told are forgiven.  That the adultery you have committed is forgiven.  The fornication you have committed is forgiven.  The lifestyle you once lived is forgiven.  The hatred you once had in your heart is forgiven.  The homosexual lifestyle you once lived is forgiven.  The stealing you once did is forgiven. The way you use to treat people is forgiven.  God did it just for Monica E. Jackson, maybe making it personal will get you to your breakthrough!  God did it just for (insert your name)!

Do you know why it is all Good today? Because it’s All GOD! God died for our sins so there is no need for us to walk around feeling sorry for what we have done.

Let’s Pray!

God we come to you today, first to say THANK You! You did not have to suffer for us, but you did and because of that we are so grateful! Lord, please forgive us for our sins.  We come to you confessing them on today.  God we worship you on today! We know that it is ALL GOOD! Because it is ALL you! Lord we ask that you just touch those who do not believe in you.  We ask that you just touch their hearts, their hurts, and their minds.  Give them the mindset and the desire to know you better.  Lord we thank you for staying on the cross, just for us! It is in your name we pray! Amen!

Have a GOOD Friday and a Happy Easter (Resurrection Day)!
